AFL – Week 17 Preview and Tips

Getting closer to the end of the regular season and this week looks to be fairly predictable – none of the matches really have a massive influence on the season bar the usual points on offer although the Eagles Swans clash could be interesting and Tigers Fremantle will no doubt be fairly tight

AFL LADDER

Week 17 Fixtures

Friday
North Melbourne Kangaroos v CarltonBlues

Saturday
Hawthorn Hawks v Western Bulldogs
St Kilda Saints v Port Adelaide
Gold Coast Suns v Collingwood Magpies
GWS Giants v Essendon Bombers
Melbourne Demons v Brisbane Lions

Sunday
Richmond Tigers v Fremantle Dockers
Adelaide Crows v Geelong Cats
West Coast Eagles v Sydney Swans

So the Roos v Carlton will be the usual Friday night tense encounter it seems, preference just for the Roos
Hawks will see off the Bulldogs with no problem – depends how many points they want to win by really
Saints may struggle to hold a rejuvenated Port
Magpies should win up the coast at Suns who will start well but probably fail by 20 or so
Bombers should beat the winless Giants for sure
Lions have had some great wins this season and should beat the hapless Demons but outside small chance of that one being an upset perhaps?
Tigers need to regain that winning form and it should be a really tight game with the Dockers, not expecting a shootout and possibly the visitors by single figures
Cats should steam-roller Crows who will really miss Dangerfield (injured); Crows need to win some games or elee they will be way out of contention for the top 8 but Geelong may well put them to the sword bigtime here
Eagles had a tough battle last week and Swans should really prove too string as they look to step up a gear after a recent lapse

Summary

Cats -27.5 is only 1.83 currently so not that attractive but over 24.5 win margin is 1.84 but there is tiny liquidity at the moment
Demons +29.5pts could be useful – some of these winning margin markets aren’t bad either as Lions under 39 is worth a look
