The Arqana August Sale is one of the worlds most premier sale for bloodstock. The company’s most famous sale the August Yearling Sale never disappoints when it comes to quality and is always a sale on every Bloodstock Agents list. The Sale has sold some outstanding horses including Irish Oaks winner Chiquita, Sussex Stakes winner Toronado & French 1,000 guineas winner Flotilla. Last years sale saw the highest priced yearling sold to date by Sea The Stars in Edkhan who cost E1,200,000, he is out of French Gr 1 winner Alpine Rose.

This years August sale has no shortage of star quality and the following lots are some of the standout lots catalogued in the sale. There is sure to be fireworks ahead from agents to secure these outstandingly bred youngsters.

LOT 27 Bay Colt by Dubawi x Pennegale
This colt looks a serious prospect for the future. His sire Dubawi is no stranger to success and is having a brilliant year this year most notably through his son Al Kazeem. This colt is out of the Pennekamp mare Pennegale. Her first produce Calbuco (by Kendor) won 2 Listed races in France. It was her 2nd foal that brought her to the top the Group 1 Prix L’opera winner Lily Of The Valley (Galileo), she is now a young broodmare in Japan. This is from the family of Josr Algerhoud, Shakespearean and Group 3 Debutante stakes winner Rainbows For All.

LOT 33 Bay Filly by Galileo x Prudenzia
This young filly looks outstanding. By one of the worlds best sires in Galileo, she is out of the Listed winning Dansili mare Prudenzia making her a half sister to Irish Oaks winner Chiquita. His half brother Four Caret (by Montjeu) was one of the standout lots at the 2012 Goffs Orby Yearling sale. This colt’s full brother Frontier won 1 race in Ireland as a 2yo in 2011 beating subsequent Group winner Light Heavy.

LOT 171 Bay Filly by Fastnet Rock x Jessica’s Dream
If this filly was being offered in Australia there is no doubt she would fetch well into the six figures and maybe hit the million marker, as her sire is one of Australia’s best ever sires. She is from the 2nd crop of her sire who now shuttles back and forth to Ireland & Australia. This filly though has the makings to be a very good one. She is a half sister to Group 1 winner Havana Gold (by Teofilo).
