Wallabies v the Lions
Massive match in Sydney coming up a in a few minutes time – who will clinch the series 2-1?
After two really hard-fought and tight games with late kicks being decisive, there probably aren’t many who think this will be a runaway win for either team
Australia: Kurtley Beale (Melbourne Rebels), Israel Folau (NSW), Adam Ashley-Cooper (NSW), Christian Leali’ifano (ACT Brumbies), Joe Tomane (Brumbies), James O’Connor (Melbourne Rebels), Will Genia (Reds); Benn Robinson (NSW), Stephen Moore (ACT), Ben Alexander (ACT), James Horwill (Reds – capt), Kane Douglas (NSW), Ben Mowen (ACT), George Smith (Brumbies), Wycliff Palu (NSW).
Replacements: Saia Fainga’a (Reds), James Slipper (Reds), Sekope Kepu (NSW), Rob Simmons (Reds), Ben McCalman (Western Force), Michael Hooper (NSW), Nick Phipps (Rebels), Jesse Mogg (Brumbies).
Lions: Leigh Halfpenny (Wales); Tommy Bowe (Ireland), Jonathan Davies (Wales), Jamie Roberts (Wales), George North (Wales); Jonathan Sexton (Ireland), Mike Phillips (Wales); Alex Corbisiero (England), Richard Hibbard (Wales), Adam Jones (Wales), Alun Wyn Jones (captain, Wales), Geoff Parling (England), Dan Lydiate (Wales), Sean O’Brien (Ireland), Toby Faletau (Wales).
Replacements: Tom Youngs (England), Mako Vunipola (England), Dan Cole (England), Richie Gray (Scotland), Justin Tipuric (Wales), Conor Murray (Ireland), Owen Farrell (England), Manu Tuilagi (England).
Bound to be tense, tight and no doubt there will be a few ugly skirmishes – regarding the actual type of game, then it’s hard to predict an all-out attacking open match but the Wallabies look the more likely to open it up and with their game seeming to be coming together they are our tips to win this
The Lions have gone back into their shell a bit and look a bit too defensive – with some dubious selections too, they may well struggle to contain the hosts and could find themselves either relying on some very accurate kicking or having to open it up too to get on equal terms
Should be an amazing atmosphere and with George Smith back for the Wallabies, and with the Lions looking less confident in their best team, then we think the Wallabies could win this by 3-6 points or so
