We have now reached the quarter final stages in Hull where the remaining top seeds all came through the second day without too much trouble. Alan Norris was troubled at some stages by the 14th seed Remco Van Eijden but managed to get a well deserved win. The match of the day was Nick Kenny v Martin Adams where it was very much a battle of youth versus experience. Kenny had beaten Ted Hankey, information pills Tony O Shea and Scott Waites to get to this stage and hit a 156 checkout early on to trouble Wolfie. The match went all the way to the final set and Kenny missed several darts to gain another major scalp. Adams kept his cool to win in the deciding leg to win.
BDO Winnmau World Masters Final Day Betting Tips
In the first match of the day I expect Martin Phillips to do enough to see off the challenge of Mark McGeeney and I will back the Welshman to win on the -1.5 set handicap at Evens. Phillips has impressed a lot with his performances this week so far and should be able to use his experience to win.
Similarly I think Scott Mitchell has thrown some quality darts so far in this tournament hitting a high 3 dart average in the high 90s in his last round. He should be able to get through the challenge of Glen Durrant and will also back Scotty to win on the -1.5 set handicap at Evens.
In the final quarter final match Gary Robson faces Martin Adams in what I expect to be a close encounter. Both players have been in good form this season getting to the latter stages of the World Trophy. Indeed Adams was one dart away from a nine darter in that event and has had a good resurgence of form lately. However at the odds of 15/8 I shall back Robson to cause a surprise.
