Another profitable round of games with Clyde and East Fife particularly boosting us with their away wins. In the Premier League, Everton ended up with a good-looking scoreline despite not being so great during the game and in the Championship, Yeovil couldn’t hang on to their lead at Barnsley or mount a comeback during the stalemate. We experienced both sides of luck in League One with Brentford grabbing a late winner but Gillingham conceded a late equaliser and Colchester were well and truly beaten at home. Accrington got off to a shocking start for us in League Two being 0-3 down within half an hour and despite managing to grab two goals, the damage had already been done.
Our Rangers, Stirling & Falkirk bets were all victims of the weather but we still managed a clean sweep with the remaining trio. Celtic ground out a 1-0 win whilst East Fife came from behind to win at Airdie. Clyde never looked like relinquishing their lead once they took it to complete the games up north.
Mixed fortunes over in Germany with Dortmund only managing a draw at Hoffenheim, but a Wolfsburg victory kept us in touch. We ended with a slight loss on Sunday’s games after Norwich couldn’t mount a comeback against Swansea despite piling on the pressure in the second half but Schalke won nicely to keep any damage down to a relative minimum.
Just the one game in midweek and that comes in the Scottish League One with Brechin taking on Airdrie. Brechin have worked hard to make Glebe Park a difficult place to visit and as a result have only been beaten there by runaway league leaders Rangers, even then making them come back from 3-1 down to win 4-3. Airdrie haven’t won away all season and have conceded two or more on their travels in 9 out of their 10 games.
