Premier League Table >

EPL table 3 Apr

Form-wise, there is a good battle for the top 4 and a few teams on the up – equally, there are plenty on losing runs etc. There haven’t been many draws about recently with the last round being ten wins from 10, with 8 of them being by a single goal margin interestingly

Arsenal v Liverpool > two sides in good form meet here; Arsneal have won 16 of 19 with 3 defeats since they last drew, at Anfield in December. Liverpool have won 5 of their last 6 away and haven’t conceded a goal in that run which is mightily impressive. All things considered, this could be any result with maybe the edge with the home side but I fancy a draw here, probably 1-1 as Liverpool have defended really well away and have improved their organisation hugely. Arsenal are flying but may have to settle for a point here unless their flair players do something really impressive

Everton v Southampton > Saints have been excellent this season while Everton have disappointed a bit to be fair – the Toffees have won just 4 of their last 15 home league games while the Saints have lost just 5 of their last 15 aways in this league. Saints 1-0 is the (not confident) pick as they can nullify this hosts and nick another great away victory. Under 2.5 would be another good call for me here; Saints have won 5 of those 15 aways games by a score of 1-0 too so that is clearly their best success route. Having thought about this game, a draw could be more likely and the price is the same for either team currently on BF!

Leicester v West Ham > vital game for both as we enter the final stages of the season; more so for the hosts obviously though as they really need the points. Both teams have just 1 win in their last 10 at home/away respectively. Leicester have failed to score in their last 3 at home and Hammers likewise in 3 of their last 4 away. Thus everything points to a dull 0-0 so I think this could be daft. Leicester were full on at Spurs last week and could have scored 6 (they scored 3 and had really good chances to double that) and if they continue in that vein then this could be a 3-2 thriller. A contrary call with Leicester winning by the odd goal in 5 and Over 2.5 for me here

Man Utd v Aston Villa > Utd have followed up a good winning run with some impressive efforts recently proving they weren’t getting ‘lucky’ and won easily home to Spurs and then well at Anfield. Villa ended a pathetic run with a great 4-0 drubbing of Sunderland away but still don’t look confident of surprising top sides. But you never know.. over-confidence may hurt the Reds here and they need to be wary. Utd have won 11 of the last 12 in this fixture here and often scored 3 or more. Villa won 1-0 in 09 and need a similar shock here today

Swansea v Hull > Hull are in trouble and need to find some points away from home, just 1 win in 14 away is poor – Swansea are nicely settled in 8th and should be able to relax; the home side should win unless Hull fight really hard and find a draw.. a 0-0 maybe likely if the hosts are off their game but not much value in this fixture. If Swansea do win then I think it may be just by a single goal

WBA v QPR > Rangers are so poor on their travels with 17 of their last 19 league aways being defeats – they have scored however in their last 7 away games so they can take some confidence from that. Their defence is poor though and the Baggies can benefit as they are picking up well at home with 5 wins in 7 and have not conceded for 3. A 2-1 or even 3-1 home win perhaps

Chelsea v Stoke > a game that you would expect Chelsea to win comfortably but they have drawn a few home games recently after winning 10 on the spin. Stoke have won 5 times away this term and at City, Spurs and Everton so a result for them here wouldn’t be a massive shock albeit fairly unlikely. Chelsea have won this fixture for the last 8 renewals and haven’t conced in the last 7 of them so the H2H points one way but that’s a minor and fairly irrelevant stat

Burnley v Spurs > Spurs have been really poor in their last two games, a no show at OT basically and then a hugely fortunate win over Leicester 4-3 when they were clearly outplayed at times and relied upon a deflection, an OG and a penalty to see off a game Leicester side who could and should have won the game. Spurs were so poor defensively with gaps everywhere and awful positioning. If Burnley play like they have at times (beating City at home recently) then they can pick up 3 big points here. Spurs every now and again play really well in these games and win comfortably (3-0 at WBA a while back for example) and maybe need freshening up as there are some tired players featuring week in week out. Spurs have won a lot of their games against non top 5 sides away and they often have a few goals (2-1 very popular). Maybe a draw as any result could occur here, 2-2 for me

Sunderland v Newcastle > anything goes in this game, ignore the (poor) form! Sunderland for me as I think they will be up for this hugely and clearly need a win – not one to bet on but the Mackems to edge it, maybe 2-1 although another game that could well be a draw

Palace v City > City really have let Chelsea cruise a bit and have allowed other teams to battle them for the 2nd spot. They can be devastating at times but also can drag some poor efforts up, they have lost at Liverpool and Burnley in their last 2 aways while Palace have ridden the Pardew train well and have reached 36pts so look safe. Hard to call game and yet another potential draw but City should do enough to pinch this 2-1 or so
