Premier League Table >

18 oct 14

Only 3 teams with 3 or more wins in their last 5; Newcastle and Burnley still winless for a long while now

Small loss last week which means we are still not in profit yet this season but there’s a long way to go!

City v Spurs > We all know how City have hammered Spurs in recent matches but ‘City away’ used to be a favourite for Spurs fans; a game they often did well in but times have changed! Watching Stoke pack the defence and nick a win here earlier this season could turn out to be a blueprint for visitors this term – Pochettino will have taken heart from the point gained at Arsenal recently and expect more of the same. Adebayor amongst others may not be fully deserving of a spot in the starting line-up but I think MP will go with the same formula/players again and try to nullify the attacking edge of the hosts. The pressing game with the wide players tucking in a bit is to be expected and they need to be on their game or else Spurs will get hammered again. I am plumping for a tight, dull game with Spurs probably (again) struggling to get much going shot-wise but trying to keep the Blues at bay – Under 2.5 looks tempting at a big price

Arsenal v Hull > Routine 2-0 home win it seems although every now and again Arsenal struggle in these games – last season however they were adept at polishing off the lower sides. Hull may hold them and then concede in the latter stages so perhaps HT/FT of Draw/Arsenal is worth a look

Burnley v West Ham > Hard to tell with Hammers as often poor but occasionally they have a cracker; Burnley still battling and looking for that first win – could be a 1-1 draw and can’t see much happening in the opening 45 so perhaps a draw then too

Palace v Chelsea > 1-0 Palace last season and could be a huge banana skin for Chelsea but you would be brave to go against them continuing their title march

Everton v Villa > Everton not looking anything like as solid as last year and struggling to stop conceding – they deserved at least a draw last week at OT but will welcome Villa who have slid since they met the top teams. Villa are alwas dangerous away from home and could nick a sneaky point here; BTTS could be the call too at near to evens

Newcastle v Leicester > Newcastle will desperately want their first win but with nothing to lose, Leicester could prove awkward – they let themselves down a bit losing at Palace after that big Utd win. Risky but a nervy and lucky 2-1 home win for me

Southampton v Sunderland > Saints to pick up their form again after under-producing at WHL recently, Stoke awkward but lacking in quality. Possibly 3-1 if Saints play well

QPR v Liverpool > Another dodgy game for Rodgers’ men, not much quality to beat but with confidence lacking currently, this could be a tough test. QPR will need to pick up some good wins occasionally to help themselves and  may get some joy today although I can see a draw here

Stoke v Swansea > Swans flying high and playing well and could be worth taking to win against a Stoke team struggling to find consistency. I fancy a bunch of goals in this one, perhaps 2-2 or 3-2 either way although Stoke have had 3 home games with a 1-0 scoreline! Swansea drew their last away 0-0 so a bit against the run with this one!

WBA v Utd > Agian I fancy the Baggies here to get something, they were unlucky not to get something at Anfield and they are in a decent bit of form – Utd have the firepower but are poor defensively and this will always cause them trouble

Advised Bets >

City v Spurs Under 2.5 @ 2.54

Stoke v Swansea Over 2.5 @ 2.24

Draw/Arsenal HT/FT @5.0

Newcastle @ 2.2

Burnley v West Ham Draw @ 3.45, HT draw @ 2.2

WBA +0.75 AH @ 1.93

Everton v Villa BTTS @ 1.92
