Premier League Table >

EPL 12th Dec

Bit of a wobble for Chelsea whilst Utd are storming along with 5 wins on the bounce – 4 teams with no win in last 5

Showing a small profit for the season so let’s hope for some good weeks although Xmas is often a tricky time for betting

Burnley v Saints > Saints away games have seen just 6 goals in their last 5 so they are keeping it tight – they will be glad to see the back of some good sides and will expect to win at an improved but still average Burnley – a dull 1-0 away win looks probable and Under 2.5 for me

Chelsea v Hull > expecting Chelsea to hit their straps after a couple of average results recently in the league; Hull will no doubt make it tight if they can but the class should tell – a steady 2-0 home win for me

Palace v Stoke > Palace with 1 win in 9 face Stoke, 2 wins in 7 so neither are flying but both have picked off good sides with those wins – bit of a curate’s egg season for both and hard to call who will win this but I’ll edge with palace who looked useful at Spurs last week, defending well and looking dangerous on the break. Stoke are off the back of beating Arsenal of course but I think the home side may want this more and nick this 2-1 or even 3-2 as I fancy some goals again here

Leicester v City > be really hard to make a case for the hosts here as City have stepped their form up a lot in recent weeks – they should run out easy winners here and maybe by 3-0 or so

Sunderland v West Ham > hard to call as I expect Hammers to run out of steam soon; Sunderland are a tough side and will disrupt their visitors so I think this could be a 1-1 draw.. not a strong game to bet on but a draw is the call. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a home win so anyone who likes backing underdogs, this could be a turning point game for WH

WBA v Villa > form out of the window as this game could be any result – a big derby and bound to be 100mph – an avoid for betting although form would indicate an away win. I reckon a draw and maybe 1-1

Arsenal v Newcastle > can Newcastle follow up their huge win last week and follow Utd by winning here, a ground where Arsenal had gone 23 games unbeaten prior to Utd visiting. Wenger will be pleased with the midweek Euro effort but Newcastle can take advantage of any home nerves and make this a really awkward game – they look over-priced at 7,6 for the win and the AH is worth looking at

Utd v Liverpool > Utd are on a roll and will expect to beat their despised rivals here – a big game but one which Liverpool probably aren’t ready for  – they have too may problems currently with form and confidence and Utd are flying relatively results-wise. BTTS and a 2-1 or 3-1 home win spring to mind

Swansea v Spurs > Spurs still aren’t performing and although they are better away from home, Swansea are more than capable of making life difficult. A 1-1 draw looks the call but I can see a home win too as Spurs can’t keep relying on Lloris to keep them in games. Walker may return after his first appearance in almost 9 mths in midweek, and Kane and Soldado may well be part of a 442 again. Bony is a threat and Sigurdsson could well follow other ex-Spurs players in notching against them. I would edge towards a home win but adraw is not a bad shout as both are mid-table sides who look well-matched currently

Everton v QPR > QPR’s away form is pathetic and although they will pick up an away win one day, probably in March, this game looks to be another s/forward home win, probably 2-0

Advised Bets >

Utd Liverpool, BTTS @ 1.78, Utd win @ 1.85, over 2.5 @ 1.86

Swansea v Spurs Draw @ 3.5

Newcastle @ 7.6,  +1 AH @ 2.2

Sunderland v West Ham Draw @ 3.5

Palace  @ 2.62

Man City -1.5 AH @ 2.3
