Premier League Table >

17 jan 2015 epl table

Form > Saints the best of the bunch recently although a lot of inconsistency throughout

Profit > ticking along still, need a few good weeks to really make a decent amount this season

Villa v Liverpool > Villa need to be careful as they are slipping again, not scoring and with some tricky games coming up, they are on a few radars for outside relegation bets – Liverpool are improving without looking a patch on last season still – this could be a tight 1-1 or maybe Liverpool by a goal but not a great game to bet on. Villa however have had 14 goals in total in their last 12 matches, only one has been over 2.5! They have scored just once in 5 and that was in the Cup against Blackpool so backing Unders or 0-0 etc may be worth looking at

Burnley v Palace > Burnley threw a 2 goal lead at Spurs in the Cup midweek whilst Palace beat Spurs last weekend in the league – Burnley for me today though as they have been hard to beat in recent times and have picked up many good wins while Palace have been sporadic, 1-0 for the hosts

Leicester v Stoke > Leicester have found a few wins which they probably deserved while Stoke are very hard to predict; both are in reasonable form recently and this could go either way so perhaps a draw is wise, 1-1 maybe

QPR v Utd > QPR are poor and have relied on their home form to get any points at all – Utd have stuttered a bit but should be able to put them away here and really need to – Rangers are unbeaten in 7 at home in the League whilst Utd, who went 7 without a win away in this division, are now unbeaten in 5 away but have drawn their last 3. Utd on balance but a 2-2 draw could be the result if the hosts play well

Swansea v Chelsea > Another potential banana skin for Chelsea as Swansea do play good football and can be useful but you would think the Blues will do enough to nick a 1-0 probably although they have won just 1 of their last 5 away League games surprisingly. Chelsea 3-0 and a stroll or a home win? another hard to call game in a very tricky week!

Spurs v Sunderland > Spurs off the back of a great win over Chelsea, a poor result at Palace after dominating early on, and then a comeback Cup win against Burnley – hard to judge although they should win clearly – Sunderland are scrapping and will defend well, they have had four 0-0s in their last 8 aways. Yet another tricky game as it probably won’t be as obvious as it should be – Spurs struggle to break down teams who come and sit deep with two banks of 4 and this will probably be 9 or 10 defending. A hard-fought 1-0 home win or maybe a 1-1 draw is my thought here although if Spurs have the energy after a lot of games, and Kane does the business again, they could romp this

Newcastle v Southampton > Saints have bounced back superbly from a poor Xmas and have won 4 of 5 and drawn with Chelsea – Newcastle have calmed after a good run and with Pardew gone, who knows how they will react – Saints look a good shout after winning well at Utd but it is hard to keep winning away so perhaps another potential draw. 2-1 Southampton if I was pushed here although they never seem to get a result up here not having won for 20 years!

West Ham v Hull > Hammers have done well this term but have now not won a game in 90 mins in 6, Hull are usually woeful on the road but Bruce’s team have pulled off he odd surprise result recently (winning at Sunderland and 2-0 home to Everton). This could be another strange one in a week where there are no bankers fro me at all. Worth looking at Hull on the AH as they may battle to a sneaky draw although they do have a lot of players missing currently.

City v Arsenal > If City are on form then they should win as I don’t rate the Arsenal defence but the visitors have looked a bit better recently. Wenger used to be able to pull off results in these games but I’m not sure now and with Silva pulling the strings, City can win this and keep the pressure on Chelsea. This game was 6-3 last year remember and we could see a similar daft scoreline, backing 3-2 and 4-2 could be worth a tickle for me as I can see goals

Everton v WBA > Everton looked to have stopped the rot a bit and should be able to win this as the Baggies are pretty average at best – not much value and a 2-0 home win probably

Advised Bets >

City v Arsenal > Over 2.5 @ 1.59

Spurs v Sunderland > Under 2.5 @ 2.12, Sunderland +0.75 AH @2.18

Burnley WIN @ 2.62

Newcastle v Southampton DRAW @ 3.35

Villa v Liverpool HT Draw @2.22, Under 2.5 @ 1.86

QPR v Utd > Over 3.5 @ 3.0

Leicester v Stoke > HT Draw @ 2.1

Everton WIN @ 1.88
