Football: SBB Weekly Accumulator (27/04/13)

2

Everyone can find a winner in a weekend on the football coupons but that elusive 5 or 6 results for an accumulator and big pay day always has the one that lets you down.

The SBB team will each put up 1 selection per week on the football although not below 1.5 in price and we will see if 5 or 6 minds, looking at different ways of selecting a result could pay dividends.

This accumulator is deemed complete at time of posting

Crewe vs Walsall – Home Win
Neither of these teams have anything to play for, Walsall are 6pts behind the final playoff place whilst Crewe are destined to finish mid-table so it could be a dangerous game to get involved with but I am going to take a risk and go with the home win. Walsall are unbeaten in their last 6 on the road but have only won two of those whilst Crewe have won four of their last six at home. When visiting Crewe, Walsall have only picked up one win in their last seven visits with Crewe picking up five of the wins. Crewe picked up a good win at home to Sheffield United in midweek and end the season on a high this weekend with a win over Walsall.

Scunthorpe v SwindonOver 2.5 Goals

Last game of the season and plenty riding on it for both teams. Scunthorpe are 3 points from safety with a -3 goal defecit to reduce. Colchester losing would leave them level,  if Scunthorpe won, they could stave off relegation. They will have to attack though which is a worry at the other end as they have the worst defence in the league conceding 72 goals. Swindon are assured a play off spot but need to match or better Sheffield United’s result (at Home to Preston who have nothing to play for) to play 4th placed Yeovil who they have beaten home and away this season rather than 3rd placed Brentford who they have lost to home and away.

Over 2.5 goals looks generous at Evens considering the two teams have met just 5 times before and have hit 2.5 goals or more in 3 of those games. The two that didn’t were both 1-1 draws with Swindon having a man sent off both times. The fixture itself has only been played twice finishing 1-2 & 3-3. Should be an attacking game and Scunthorpe have to go all out for it.

Stoke v NorwichHome Win

Stoke still aren’t safe but a point here would just about see them to safety, however with only Spurs left at home where they are strong and two away games where they have picked up only 12 points all season a 3pts would calm all the nerves for another year. Stoke have just lost 4 at home all season despite sitting where they do and have had a poor run of late which came to an end when winning at QPR last week. They have drawn a lot but Norwich are hardly world beaters themselves. They have just one win away from Carrow Road and although they have seven draws they have lost 6 and drawn 2 (QPR and the poor pre Di Canio Sunderland) since the start of December scoring just 4 goals and only 13 in total. Stoke have only failed to score 6 times this season at home with 3 of them Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal, while the other 3 games they have drawn blanks have seen 2 x 0-0 and a single goals victory. They are a good price at better than evens and well worth the plunge here.

Blackburn v Crystal Palace > Home win +0.5 AH
Palace have slumped and although still up near the top, they are struggling to find any form as we go into the last couple of games; they have won just 1 of their last 13 away league games and have lost 8 of those 13. they have scored just once in their last 5 aways and 3 times in their last 8 away matches – Blackburn are on 55pts and with this being a daft season in terms of relegation pts, they still need a win to be safe so this is a good chance for them to clinch the 3pts; they have won 3 of their last 4 and lost just once in their last 9 homes so the stats and form all point to a home win despite the hosts being placed much further down the table. Blackburn look good value at 37/19 best odds for the win but taking the AH option means a draw is enough although the odds are much lower obviously

Only 1 bookie doing the +0.5 Handicap so we will have to go with Bet365 today, however Betvictor and William Hill look to have the best prices on the 2 or 3 of the other selections

About Author

Hi I am 42 and have been sports betting seriously for the last 4-5 years. My main areas are Rugby Union where I have played a decent level in both England and Wales and also Cricket where I did the same. I like my horses too but really limit myself to the sprints up to a mile in the summer and then the longer distances over fences in the winter with some AW action as well in the colder months.

  1. Terrific stuff lads, well done! paid about 22/1 which was one of the higher returns – I hope some of our viewers backed it too!

    Crewe 2-0, Stoke 1-0, Scunthorpe 3-1, Blackburn 1-1 means a big WIN!
