Giro Stage 11 Cycling Blog
Giro Stage 11 gets interesting. On Stage 10 Porte had the rough luck with his late flat costly in more ways than one and a pity for cycling which has the unusual habit of picking odd times to back up the strong enforcement of its rules in this case. Anyway hopefully Porte can get over it and perform the minor miracle he needs to win back a chance at this Giro. The day saw us win our two strongest match bets to come out in profit.
This short 153km stage should be interesting. The shorter days often make for some good racing and I expect no difference in this one. The stage has plenty minor climbs and should be very interesting. The climb is 4.4km but that includes a flat middle section. The climb can really be split with a 1.5km at 7.3% and 600m at 10%. After the crest of the climb, view there is just under 8km of descending towards the finishing line. They do it four times before a descent to the sprint finish. This stage does really look like a tricky call on the value front.
Matthews at 7/1 is tempting but the team could end up doing a lot of work to try grab this one back so it is just a small punt from the blog. Lobato should be dead strong for these hill repeats and then give it a very strong chance in the sprint, pharm also Movistar should have the team to do some strong chasing.
