Giro Stage 19 Preview Cycling

Giro Stage 18 left us with a little bit of a profit. Pellizotti got in the break and involved in the action but didn’t have what it took to match Arrendondo. Aru was again a class act beating the group of favourites home but they came in behind the break so it wasn’t a win in the end.

So on to Giro Stage 19 the 3rd and final time trial its an up hill on to test what is left in the legs. A true race of truth for the overall contenders. Its 27km of testing terrain. A flat entry gets the riders warmed up before they hit a long climb. The first time check is before the real climbing. From theres its a good grind to the second check point with an averrage of 7-8%. Then we hit a flat spot before it ramps up again in the 9% region. The finish to Cima Grappa brings us to a WWI monument and could go a long way to deciding the order of the top 10 for the Giro.

Giro Stage 19 Profile

For me I am a fan of mountain time trials in a 3 week race they have there place as part of racing. I was hoping for Quintana at a price worth betting but that is too much to hope for. Value again could be in a man who has proved he can hang about and attack and might well suit a time trial. Majka held back a little today he knows the time trial is were real time can be won this could be his moment.

Majka looks exceptional value up against Rolland in a match bet at 5/6.

1pt Uran to beat Pozzovivo 8/11 ladbrokes
