Giro Stage 20 Preview Cycling

We went damn close in Stage 19 as Fabio Aru would prove value and he did just that as he rode a stormer but he was denied by Quintana who was just too good solo on a climb like that. This is the last 167km to affect the overall view of the race and its one hell of a final climb to bow out on. So onto Giro Stage 20 and the finish at 1,730m on Monte Zoncolan its going be a corker.

Giro Stage 20 Profile

The riders must get over two easier climbs first but they are not easy and its going spilt the bunch up on what will be another mega day of climbing and then they hit the final climb Monte Zoncolan. The climb is just 10km long but it is extremely steep. It goes for 5-6km at 10% and more hitting 20% in sections. It does ease off a little in the final km, its so hard I think we may well see Aru or Quintana win this by default as it is every man for himself. With the climb averaging 11% of that 10km then this is a battle of every man for himself. Watch them cry and watch them sweat with a Grand Tour finish in sight.

Others might consider Pozzovivo at 12/1 but I just can’t see how he beat Quintana here. Arrendondo and Duarte are two climbers who will try get in the break and hold on from there. Expect De Gendt to go up the road too.

Giro Stage 20 Bets:

2pts Nairo Quintana 2.49 pinnacle

Henao to beat Sanchez at 5/4 looks too good to ignore. Henao has been climbing well in the final week put in a good tt and has no team to worry about Sanchez hasn’t really been up to much.
