Hofmans Golf Picks – Thailand Golf Championship Tips
Among the Asian-dominated field there are a handful of top quality pros lining up for this event this week so I will have an interest along with my Nelson Mandela Championship tips. This is the second last event of the year for the Asian Tour and some money has been thrown about to attract a decent field.
It’s an interesting course which plays long enough and has plenty of water in play as well as its own 17th hole island green, so I will be keeping an eye out but with the field being unbalanced it offers limited betting potential. I will likely lay both Stenson and Garcia here. Stenson is feeling the pinch – if he were still at the top of his level he would have done better last week. Garcia continues to fail to convert and I am sure this course will test his cool..
So our bets for the Thailand Golf Championship are:
Daniel Chopra 125/1 bet365 – Has won plenty in Asia to suggest he will take to this test. He was 6th here last time when let down by poor final round. I saw him mentioned and saw the price and couldn’t resist.
Kiradech Aphibarnrat 28/1 various – This lad has shown his talents towards the latter part of 2013 and can test the seasoned tour players. 6th here last year and with his good driving he can do well here.
Charl Schwartzel 5/1 various (6.6 betdaq) – While it is a pity he hasn’t decided to play back home he does love this course with a fantastic win last year and was solid in 2011 also when the only one who could run the in-form Westwood close. He comes in the best form he been so far this season and pretty fresh compared to his rivals
That completes my tips for the Thailand Golf Championship
