Horse Racing: Friday 3rd March – Aidenldrebin Selection

5.25 NewburyAGATHE ROSALIE (nap)

The selection is a daughter of Presenting who is the first foal of a maiden half sister to French 9-15f Flat/smart 2m-2m 1f hurdle (including at Grade 2/Listed level)/dual 2m chase winner Afsoun, French 12.5f 3yo Flat/smart 2m-2m 4f hurdle (including at Grade 2/3 level) winner Agrapart and useful 11-21f Flat/useful 2m-2m 4f hurdle/2m 3f chase winner Afrad out of a half sister to 2m 4f Listed hurdle winner Afarka, smart juvenile hurdler Afarad and to the dam of Balthazar King and For Good Measure. This filly is trained by Lucy Wadham and fetched €50,000 as a three-year-old, making plenty of appeal on pedigree as the first foal of a half sister to smart hurdlers Afsoun and Agrapart, while there are also several Flat winners in the family. She comes from a good stable that enjoys a reasonable amount of success in this sphere, especially with fillies/mares, and the fact she’s brought here for her debut outing suggests she may be Aintree material; no surprise to see this well-related daughter of Presenting off the mark at the first time of asking here.

About Author

Have been interested in horse racing since 2000, particularly the breeding side of things. Naturally, I enjoy picking apart maiden races given my love of pedigrees, but I am also at home with handicaps and Group races. Spotting potential early is very rewarding, as is picking up on a handicap project from an early stage, with my most satisfying success stories in recent years being Pere Blanc, More Of That, Turtle Watch and Arab Dawn.
