2.00 LeicesterAIRSHOW (nap)

The selection is a son of Showcasing who is a half brother to 5.5f 2yo debut winner Air Of Mystery and 6f 2yo debut winner Scofflaw, out of a fairly useful 6-7f winning half sister to useful 5-6f 2yo winner Ishbelle and prolific 1m-2m winner (including on debut at two) Layline out of an unraced half sister to Group 3-placed UK/Swedish multiple 1m winner (including at Listed level) Smart Enough and smart 6f-1m winner (including at Listed level) Oasis Dancer. This gelding is trained by Rod Millman and makes a good amount of appeal on pedigree, being a half brother to a pair of winning newcomers at two, whilst his dam was a winner over 6f at two and a half sister to a 1m 2yo debut winner and also a dual winner at two (including at the minimum distance). It is fair to say he hails from a stable that isn’t renowned for its prowess with first-time-out scorers, but it has had one winning newcomer in three of the past four seasons during either April or May, including in the 2013 version of this race with the smart Master Carpenter; absolutely no surprise to see this son of Showcasing follow suit here and make a winning start to his career.

About Author

Have been interested in horse racing since 2000, particularly the breeding side of things. Naturally, I enjoy picking apart maiden races given my love of pedigrees, but I am also at home with handicaps and Group races. Spotting potential early is very rewarding, as is picking up on a handicap project from an early stage, with my most satisfying success stories in recent years being Pere Blanc, More Of That, Turtle Watch and Arab Dawn.
