Horse Racing: Monday 21st May – Aidenldrebin Selection

6.45 WindsorCRIMEAN QUEEN (nap)

The selection is a daughter of Iffraaj who is a half sister to high-class UK/UAE 8-12f winner (including twice at Group 2 level) Bronze Cannon, 12f 3yo Group 2 winner Across The Stars, US 1m 1f Grade 3 winner Valiant Girl, Listed-placed 7f 2yo debut winner Valiance, useful Irish dual 7f 2yo winner (including on debut) Elusive Award and three other winners, out of a Listed-placed 7f 3yo winning half sister to several winners including Dee Stakes scorer Prize Giving and high-class hurdler Pridwell. This filly is trained by Charlie Fellowes and makes obvious appeal on pedigree, a half sister to eight winners including a trio of Group/Graded scorers and a couple of two-year-old debut winners, the family tracing back to the speedy Be Easy (Molecomb Stakes winner/Cheveley Park second). It is interesting she starts out this early and over six furlongs, evidently an exuberant sort (wears a hood), the timing of this first run suggesting she may be considered Royal Ascot material by connections. Her handler usually adopts a patient approach with his youngsters, but he has saddled a juvenile to win on debut already this season and also in these silks previously (Salvo in 2015); in a winnable enough race, a prominent first showing wouldn’t at all surprise.

About Author

Have been interested in horse racing since 2000, particularly the breeding side of things. Naturally, I enjoy picking apart maiden races given my love of pedigrees, but I am also at home with handicaps and Group races. Spotting potential early is very rewarding, as is picking up on a handicap project from an early stage, with my most satisfying success stories in recent years being Pere Blanc, More Of That, Turtle Watch and Arab Dawn.
