Horse Racing: Saturday 15th April – Aidenldrebin Selection

2.00 Kempton – HEAVENLY PULSE (nap)

The selection is a son of Dragon Pulse who is a half brother to 5f 2yo winner Imagine If out of a 5-6f winner who was a half sister to Irish 7f 3yo Listed winner Alkasser, useful triple 6f winner Dragon King, useful 6-7f winner C Note and 6f 2yo winner Asraab out of a 5f 2yo winner who was a half sister to high-class sprinters Anthem Alexander and Dandy Man. This colt is trained by Ann Duffield and sold for €34,000 as a yearling at auction, looking the type to make an early two-year-old as a half brother to a 5f 2yo winner (went close on debut in May of his juvenile campaign) and out of a speedy sort who was sharp herself and related to several at least useful sprinters. He comes from a stable that can have its youngsters ready to strike on debut, and his sire’s progeny already has a decent strike-rate on synthetic surfaces; in a race likely to fall the way of a newcomer, it would come as no surprise to see this son of Dragon Pulse off the mark at the first time of asking.

About Author

Have been interested in horse racing since 2000, particularly the breeding side of things. Naturally, I enjoy picking apart maiden races given my love of pedigrees, but I am also at home with handicaps and Group races. Spotting potential early is very rewarding, as is picking up on a handicap project from an early stage, with my most satisfying success stories in recent years being Pere Blanc, More Of That, Turtle Watch and Arab Dawn.
