Horse Racing: Saturday 28th April – Aidenldrebin Selection

6.10 Punchestown MULTIFACTORIAL (nap)

The selection is a son of Stowaway who is the first foal of a dual bumper (including on debut)/smart 2m 2f-2m 5f hurdle (including twice at Grade 3 level) winner who was a half sister to dual bumper (including on debut)/smart dual 2m hurdle (including at Listed level)/very useful 2m 3f-3m chase winner Puffin Billy, triple bumper/very useful 2m hurdle/2m 1f chase winner Tycoon Prince and 2m hurdle winner Herewego Herewego out of an unraced half sister to Irish 2m 5f Grade 1 chase winner The Railway Man. This gelding is trained by Gordon Elliott and went for €82,000 at the sales last summer, making obvious appeal on pedigree as the first foal of a smart performer who won both of her outings in this sphere, and she herself was a half sister to good bumper winners/very useful jumpers Puffin Billy and Tycoon Prince. He clearly boasts excellent paper credentials, hailing from one of the top stables in the land and boasting a smart pedigree that contains plenty of bumper winners; for all this looks a potentially warm event, it’d be somewhat disappointing if this well-related son of Stowaway couldn’t go close here.

About Author

Have been interested in horse racing since 2000, particularly the breeding side of things. Naturally, I enjoy picking apart maiden races given my love of pedigrees, but I am also at home with handicaps and Group races. Spotting potential early is very rewarding, as is picking up on a handicap project from an early stage, with my most satisfying success stories in recent years being Pere Blanc, More Of That, Turtle Watch and Arab Dawn.
