Horse Racing: Saturday 3rd February – Aidenldrebin Selection

4.30 WetherbyTUPOLEV (nap)

The selection is a son of Black Sam Bellamy who is a three-parts brother to bumper (debut)/Grade 1-placed dual 2m hurdle/very useful 2m-3m chase (including at Grade 3 level) winner Pendra (by Old Vic) and a half brother to fairly useful 2m-2m 2f chase winner Mercian King and 2m 4f hurdle winner Mariah’s Legend, out of a bumper/Grade 1-placed triple 2m hurdle (including at Grade 2 level)/smart 2m 1f-2m 4f chase (including at Grade 1 level) winner. This gelding is trained by Amy Murphy and makes plenty of appeal on pedigree, closely related to good jumper Pendra, himself an impressive debut scorer in a bumper, whilst half sister Mariah’s Legend went close first time out in this sphere. It is also perhaps notable that he has been brought to this track for his debut outing, with his talented young handler sending out Kalashnikov to make a winning start in this sphere last spring in these silks (her only bumper winner to date); absolutely no surprise to see this well-related son of Black Sam Bellamy follow suit.

About Author

Have been interested in horse racing since 2000, particularly the breeding side of things. Naturally, I enjoy picking apart maiden races given my love of pedigrees, but I am also at home with handicaps and Group races. Spotting potential early is very rewarding, as is picking up on a handicap project from an early stage, with my most satisfying success stories in recent years being Pere Blanc, More Of That, Turtle Watch and Arab Dawn.
