Horse Racing: Wednesday 5th October – Aidenldrebin Selection

6.20 KemptonMELTING DEW (nap)

The selection is a son of Cacique who is a three-parts brother to high-class 7-10f winner (including at Group 1 level) Winsili (by Dansili) out of a useful dual 10f 3yo winning half sister to French 10f 3yo Group 2 winner Ice Blue out of a Group 3-placed 1m 2yo debut winner who was a half sister to several winners, most notably the very smart 10-13f winner (including at Group 1 level) Polish Summer, US 10f Grade 1 winner Meteor Storm, 15f Group 3 winner Host Nation and 10f Listed winner Morning Eclipse. This colt is trained by Sir Michael Stoute and makes any amount of appeal on pedigree, being closely related to 7f 2yo debut/Nassau Stakes winner Winsili and from a very successful Juddmonte family that includes connections’ smart pair Doctor Fremantle and Snow Sky. For all this colt is bred to improve with time/distance, there’s enough in his pedigree to suggest he’ll prove effective at this 7f distance at two, whilst his top stable took this a couple of years ago with Convey and also sent out Cannock Chase to finish second in the 2013 renewal; no surprise to see their representative this time around off the mark at the first time of asking.

About Author

Have been interested in horse racing since 2000, particularly the breeding side of things. Naturally, I enjoy picking apart maiden races given my love of pedigrees, but I am also at home with handicaps and Group races. Spotting potential early is very rewarding, as is picking up on a handicap project from an early stage, with my most satisfying success stories in recent years being Pere Blanc, More Of That, Turtle Watch and Arab Dawn.
