3.50 Newbury – Hungerford Stakes
The Race Of The Day is based on the most valuable race from Today’s Horse Racing Meetings and we deliver Horse Racing Tips from each blogger to see if we can come to an agreement on a selection. The statistics for today’s Race Of The Day can be seen below, apart from Overall, Month and Day all data supplied is based on either flat or jumps racing depending on the daily race, all odds are based on SP.
We have a new selection process for our bloggers, instead of relying on someone to add the selections we now have an automatic process in which when a blogger has a selection he/she can now add it to the post themselves which means you get the selections as they are ready, this means that the post is now put up without any selections in order for it to be available for the bloggers to add them.
Also because there is not always someone around to edit the post with the selections we will now leave this up to you to work out, it is simple enough, when the stated closing time has passed then you can decided whether there is a bet or not, each runner will have the number of selections next to it and for each pick it is clear then that is a 1pt stake, so a runner with 3 picks and then two runners with 1 pick apiece would be a 2pt win, if there is not outright pick then it is deemed a No Bet. We advised all bets of £10 per tip clear, so a 2pt win would be a £20 win.
SBB Columns Bloggers Selections
2013 Hungerford Stakes: Tawhid (1pt Win) was the outright pick last year with 2 selections but was only 3rd at 3.50 whilst Soft Falling Rain (2nd at 3.55) and Caspar Netscher (4th at 5.52) both received one pick apiece.
Tips Entry for SBB Bloggers closes at 2.00pm
Zipster – Professor (1 Picks)
In the past 7 years the race has gone to either a 3yo or 4yo runner on 6 occasions which would only give you 3 of the remaining runners, Brazos looks up against it here today so that would leave you with Breton Rock and Professor. Breton Rock was runner up in the Timeform Jury Stakes (G3) last time out behind Penitent who has not done much in three runs since and was well beaten by Gregorian whilst Professor is yet to stamp his quality at this level but has been in decent form of late if you take out his handicap starts and he is the one which I shall be siding with here today.
Gecko – Breton Rock (1 Picks)
Going with Breton Rock after Es Que Love was pulled out of this race (my original pick) – the selection has been racing well and is improving nicely… the ground should really suit and has a great chance of winning this
Gregorian wasn’t impressive recently but could bounce back whilst Producer was beaten a few days back – Chil The Kite could be the one to challenge here but Breton Rock has a solid consistent form line and was unlucky not to pick up a Group race here over this trip earlier in the year
