Horse Racing – Sprint Picks at Beverley
I don’t delve too much into races other than sprints on the flat; and courses where there is a bias are my favourites.
1450 Beverley – Iggy – Danger Sir Geoffrey
Drops down to 5f for just the 2nd time here having raced at 6, 7, and 8f. Take out the 7 and 8f results and your form reads 1, 3, 4 with no more than 2L away from the winner. It will look to make all from the 1 draw which is the favourable tactic at Beverley. Dangers are the well backed Adiator, but for me it only just got up lto and looking at what that field did next it’s hard to find anything that wasn’t well down the field. Sir Geoffrey is the main danger for me but it doesn’t seem to be able to string 2 wins together having won lto. In 90 races it has not won 2 on the bounce and for that reason I will stick with Iggy.
1520 Beverley – Incomparable – Danger Singing Star
Scott Dixon’s Incomparable has been dropping down the ratings prior to its 2 years off course. Just 2 runs since coming back, a predictable tired effort fto followed by a 3rd lto over 5f at Hamilton. The form from that race is looking good with only 2 horses out again. 2nd placed Scoreline winning a maiden over a decent field with 84 and 70 rated 2nd and 3rd, while Rock Canyon finished 2nd to the very in-form Classy Annie at Hamilton. Singing Star may be fast out of the gates here and give Incomparable a good tow into the race, while Chocamoca is off a winning weight but if drawn wider than 5 doesn’t perform at Beverley.
