*NHL Picks Saturday 28th December – Overtime/Pen wins in brackets

Phoenix Coyotes at Anaheim Ducks
01:00 (GMT – Sunday Morning)

The Ducks have been very solid at home since November, from their fifteen matches on home ice they have only lost twice, both of which were loses after the sixty minutes so they are unbeaten in sixty minutes in fifteen home games. Twice winners after the sixty minutes which means that have won eleven of their last fifteen home games within in the sixty minutes which is great form.

The Coyotes however have not been the greatest on the road although they have taken their last three matches to overtime but just two wins in their last seven on the road does not make great reading for the visitors.

The Coyotes did have a bit of a run when visiting the Ducks, between 2009 and 2011 they notched up five victories in six games but since then the Ducks have won six of the last seven match-ups when they have home ice advantage. The Ducks scored a 5-2 home ice victory over the Coyotes last month and they should be capable of picking up the win again this evening.

Philadelphia Flyers at Edmonton Oilers
03:00 (GMT – Sunday Morning)

This is much more of a risk selection as we turn to the team sitting bottom of the Western Conference, the Edmonton Oilers who picked up a 6-2 win on home ice over the Jets on Christmas Eve which was their fifth win in their last ten on home ice where they have been very inconsistent this season.

They come up against a Flyers side who have lost five on the trot on the road and have been conceding far too many goals, in their last five games on the road they have given up 28 goals which is an average of 5.6 goals per game and it is their road form which is really costing them this season.

Five of the last six times that these two teams have met have gone in favour of the home side and the Oilers will be looking to make is four consecutive victories over the Flyers on home ice and they have had shutouts in the last two matches. They may be bottom of the Western Conference but the form points to the Oilers for this match.

About Author

I have been in the betting game for getting on 10 years now, I was a late comer in the betting scene, never really showed much interest in the first 20 years of my life but then I came across a betting website and that all changed. I have learnt a vast amount over the last 5 years, I used to believe I could pick the winner in every race before I realised I could not and began selective betting which is the only way forward. I mainly stick with the horses but do occasionally stray off to bet on the footie or speedway. I am now 35 years old, born and bred in Ipswich and still here and forever a Tractorboy, work part time for a Cash & Carry and have a dog named Dave! That’s about it from me.
