5.30 Ayr – Peacock Salt Handicap
The Race Of The Day is based on the most valuable race from Today’s Horse Racing Meetings and we deliver Horse Racing Tips from each blogger to see if we can come to an agreement on a selection. The statistics for today’s Race Of The Day can be seen below, apart from Overall, Month and Day all data supplied is based on either flat or jumps racing depending on the daily race, all odds are based on SP.
We have a new selection process for our bloggers, instead of relying on someone to add the selections we now have an automatic process in which when a blogger has a selection he/she can now add it to the post themselves which means you get the selections as they are ready, this means that the post is now put up without any selections in order for it to be available for the bloggers to add them.
Also because there is not always someone around to edit the post with the selections we will now leave this up to you to work out, it is simple enough, when the stated closing time has passed then you can decided whether there is a bet or not, each runner will have the number of selections next to it and for each pick it is clear then that is a 1pt stake, so a runner with 3 picks and then two runners with 1 pick apiece would be a 2pt win, if there is not outright pick then it is deemed a No Bet. We advised all bets of £10 per tip clear, so a 2pt win would be a £20 win.
SBB Columns Bloggers Selections
2013 Peacock Salt Handicap: Kashmir Peak (1pt Win) was the outright pick last year but could only manage 3rd at 2.99 whilst Fort Beledere (2nd at 11.64) received one pick.

Zipster – Maracuja (2 Picks)
Everyone knows the yard have been in great form and with this runner back out on some ground with cut in it you have to fancy her chances here, a winner on soft ground over C&D two starts ago and only 5lbs higher here today, the runner up of that Ayr race has since been out to win which has to be a positive, fast ground did not suit last time out but today’s conditions look much better for her chances.
Gecko – Maracuja (2 Picks)
Fancy Las Verglas star to surprise a bit here but pick will be the 3 yr old Maracuja who should relish returning here and also the soft ground – has performed well on soft and G/soft and this trip is spot on – has work cut out with a 5lb rise but given some decent improvement and a repeat of the effort here 4 weeks ago, then can collect another victory today
Ramsey Deadman – Las Verglas Star (1 Picks)
It is very unlikely LAS VERGLAS STAR would have won his last race at Glorious Goodwood at odds of 20/1 but I am certain he would have been a lot closer but for being hampered a couple of furlongs out – It ended any challenge he may have been able to make and thus the finishing position does not reflect quite what he achieved on the day – He is back out relatively quickly which suggests Richard Fahey thinks he has a good run in him and in this company where there are questions to answer from many at this level he is a worthwhile choice .
