Who is going to be relegated from the Premiership
My Premiership relegation book was opened before the season kicked off and I took positions on both Reading and Southampton to drop back down to the Championship.
Well it has been a roller coaster ride as my book has been shades of both red and green.
As the season progressed I added 2 more teams to it, West Brom and West Ham, both of which have aided in the red side of the book.
I got further involved at the end of March when I decided to back Stoke to go at average odds of 29.13.
I traded out of my loss making West Ham and Southampton positions some time ago and the current book look like this:
So I have balanced out the book on every team except Stoke and I now have to decide whether or not to let this position run a bit further or to fully cash in.
As it currently stands I will win £20.00 ish whatever happens but still have a potential for a lot more if Stoke were to go, their final games are:
Not an easy run in by any stretch of the imagination.
The bottom of the league looks as tight as a ducks rear end and there are in my opinion 6 teams involved in the fight to avoid the final relegation position as I am taking it that most agree that Reading and QPR are all ready relegated.
Newcastle, Norwich, Sunderland, Stoke, Aston Villa and Wigan are the teams involved.
Stoke still have to play 2 of these teams.
So what am I going to do then…….
There are still so many permutations and ifs and buts that I have decided to “gamble” on them getting dragged further into the fight, A loss today at QPR would see their odds shorten further especially if Norwich and Wigan can get something from their respective games. I am slightly concerned that Wigan’s involvement in the FA Cup could see their league form suffer further but on the flip side players will be playing for Cup Final places.
I will look to review my position game by game and hope that the boys from the Potteries continue to play as bad as they did against Man Utd last weekend.
Come on Arry and the boys, do me a huge favour today, oh and Paul if you are reading, can you please ensure that the Villa boys are fully motivated for Monday night’s trip to Old Trafford for more reasons than one.
