SBB Race Of The Day Selections

Zipster – Prince Alzain

With the way my selections have been going (0-17) I may as well just stick a pin the race card and go with that! Anyway I have this between Prince Alzain and Chookie Royale, the latter is now off a career high mark of 94, that is 2lbs higher than his runner up finish in a class three at Kempton last time out and 3lbs higher than his class four success at Kempton two starts ago, has a great AW record and Jason Hart gets on well in the saddle.

Prince Alzain has been in group race on four of his last five starts and although been beaten should be respected at this level, trip is ideal and he is 3-3 here at Wolverhampton, when last seen in a handicap he was winning over C&D off a mark of 95 and comes here off 103 today but has the talented Oisin Murphy talking off 5lbs so he is not much above that mark today.

Chookie Royale has been in great form but will not be helped by the further rise in the handicaps and my preference today has to be for the top weighted class dropping Prince Alzain.

Jaydubs – Prince Alzain

I have this between the 2 100+ rated runners in Prince Alzain and Strictly Silver. Alfred Hutchinson for me is a little too high and probably needs a 6-10lb drop to become competitive again, with its highest winning mark 87 when in form and with a 5lb claim. Chookie Royale is in great form and has not been out of the places on the AW however I think after running this evening at Kempton we will not see it tomorrow or if we do I don’t fancy its chances due to this factor. Sound Advice looks quite high as well with its 2 winning marks off 74 and 77 while its hard to pick Super Say or Party Royal on inconsistency grounds. THis looks quite close between the two remaining with both having good Wolves records and stepping down to chase a lesser target. Strictly Silver though may just be a few lbs to high and with man of the moment Oisin Murphy taking 5 off Prince Alzain that has just swung it for me.

Darylrogerson – Prince Alzain

Chookie Royale is having his 3rd run in 8 days and despite Keith Dalgleish’s good record with quick returners to the track this race, being his hardest task for a while looks to be one race too much. Strictly Silver is one I follow closely as he always gives a good account of himself but usually needs a strong gallop over this trip to outstay his rivals and I can’t convince myself he’ll be suited today.

Prince Alzain looks the likeliest winner in my opinion after contesting and acquitting himself well in Group 3 races in three of his last four races. Just three races this season, all since August after nearly a year off the track, he ran well in a conditions race on his return at Epsom prior to Group 3’s at Kempton and Dundalk. Is three from three over course and distance and it was only in August last year that despite giving 10lbs away he easily beat Universal who has since gone up 30lbs to 115 having won two Group 2’s and a Group 3 since.

This looks more achievable than his recent race where he has been a few lbs against it on the ratings and with the talented claimer Oisin Murphy booked I think he can make it 4/4 for C&D wins today.

About Author

I have been in the betting game for getting on 10 years now, I was a late comer in the betting scene, never really showed much interest in the first 20 years of my life but then I came across a betting website and that all changed. I have learnt a vast amount over the last 5 years, I used to believe I could pick the winner in every race before I realised I could not and began selective betting which is the only way forward. I mainly stick with the horses but do occasionally stray off to bet on the footie or speedway. I am now 35 years old, born and bred in Ipswich and still here and forever a Tractorboy, work part time for a Cash & Carry and have a dog named Dave! That’s about it from me.
