Tour De Romandie 2015 Cycling Blog
The last week race before we get into the Giro in May. 6 stages in this years race. A team time trial, an individual time trial, two high mountain days, and a medium mountain day with one clear sprint day. Stage 1 TTT is long enough to create some notable gaps. Stage finishes over a decent testing climb so I am unsure we see a big pack at the finish of that one. Stage 3 should be a sprint for the stronger sprinters. Stage 4 does look another sprint if maybe selective. Stage 5 is the key mountain day 4 cat 1 climbs, final climb is 14.2km at 7%. 17km time trial to hit on final day.
Forecast is for some rain so that will make it a little more up in the air as some riders do not give there best with the horrid weather. Both Majka and Van Den Broeck might pick up there form here but differing issues put me off. Martin has a horrid time with crashes the past week.
Spilak looks a good call for this one with his love of horrid weather, his decent showing in Pais Vasco and a good record in the race encourge me and he is 7/1 with two books. He wasn’t far off before and both Froome and Quintana are not bullet proof just now. Rui Costa has also done well in the past and looks tip top right now. Peraud is my saver at the tasteful odds of 66/1. The market has been a little rushed so offerings are slim so the match betting market does not provide much in the way of chances for us.
