About Author

I have been in the betting game for getting on 10 years now, I was a late comer in the betting scene, never really showed much interest in the first 20 years of my life but then I came across a betting website and that all changed. I have learnt a vast amount over the last 5 years, I used to believe I could pick the winner in every race before I realised I could not and began selective betting which is the only way forward. I mainly stick with the horses but do occasionally stray off to bet on the footie or speedway. I am now 35 years old, born and bred in Ipswich and still here and forever a Tractorboy, work part time for a Cash & Carry and have a dog named Dave! That’s about it from me.

  1. I promise I’m being constructive not churlish here, and you have my blessing to delete this once you’ve read it, but £500 is an 85p win accumulator on the four. Why don’t a few of you chip in for a £20 accumulator and make a potential prize fund of £10,000? That would get people’s attention. And, if all four do win, you’ll have enough left over for a drink.
    Cheers,
    Peter.

    • We are quite happy with the Prize fund, yes we could up it but for this Competition it will be staying as a Prize fund of £1,000.

You have to understand that everything we do on this site is out of our own pockets, hosting to buying themes and plugins to domain name registration and just the general up keep of the site, we recently moved to a more expensive hosting plan to delivery a better experience for our visitor which is why we also do not flood the site with adverts to cover the costs because from our experiences with sites we have visited they put you off!

I would not turn down a free £500 and I know where you are coming from and who knows in the future maybe we will up the Prize fund for the competitions!

  2. Fair comment Peter, but as Zip states, we are doing a free comp which costs us very little – if we spent money on comps, we would have to cover that with adverts or bookie sign-ups which is something we don’t do at SBB and don’t wish to do

We want to keep SBB ad-free and not push bookmaker deals which reward ‘losing accounts’

  3. Understood Guys, and I’ll add that for me your site is almost perfect as the blogs are really interesting, you’re good at selections which are all well researched and I love the ad-free thing. It’s clearly a labour of love for you and your fellow bloggers. As I said, I’m not denigrating your prize – I just saw the opportunity to fund a much bigger prize for the cost of a few quid on the acca, with the idea it would attract even more attention. As it is, make sure you stick the £2 on it to insure against having to pay out the £1,000.

    All the best.
