Coronation Stakes – Race Of The Day (Fri 20th June)

4.25 Ascot – Coronation Stakes

The Race Of The Day is based on the most valuable race from Today’s Horse Racing Meetings and we deliver Horse Racing Tips from each blogger to see if we can come to an agreement on a selection. The statistics for today’s Race Of The Day can be seen below, apart from Overall, Month and Day all data supplied is based on either flat or jumps racing depending on the daily race, all odds are based on SP. View Monthly Breakdown Stats.

We have a new selection process for our bloggers, instead of relying on someone to add the selections we now have an automatic process in which when a blogger has a selection he/she can now add it to the post themselves which means you get the selections as they are ready, this means that the post is now put up without any selections in order for it to be available for the bloggers to add them.

Also because there is not always someone around to edit the post with the selections we will now leave this up to you to work out, it is simple enough, when the stated closing time has passed then you can decided whether there is a bet or not, each runner will have the number of selections next to it and for each pick it is clear then that is a 1pt stake, so a runner with 3 picks and then two runners with 1 pick apiece would be a 2pt win, if there is not outright pick then it is deemed a No Bet. We advised all bets of £10 per tip clear, so a 2pt win would be a £20 win.

Gecko – My Titania (3 Picks)

Seems to be a shootout between Lightning Thunder and My Titania for me with the former looking very solid with two second place finishes in both 1k Guineas races thus year whilst the latter looks to be a really top class performer having won a G3 last year, and remains unexposed

The question is can this Sea The Stars bred filly regain her form after not running for a long time (missed a couple of races due to a dirty scope and ground) – if she can and with Oxx getting his act together right now, then she has a great chance here although it is hard to dismiss Lightning Thunder too readily… should be a decent race and Rosalind may be another to get in the mix if resuming well on this surface

Darylrogerson – My Titania (3 Picks)

Going to have to go with John Oxx’s runner here. Has been plenty of interest over the winter regarding her and hardly surprising considering she had the Oaks runner up 6 lengths back on her last run. Has been actively held back waiting for guaranteed better ground and she finally gets it today. Sea The Star’s 3yo progeny are going very nicely and I think My Titania can add another big race to his portfolio.

Anthony Sherratt – My Titania (Selections Post) (3 Picks)

See selections post for full reasoning.

Zipster – Rizeena (1 Picks)

My Titania deserves a lot of respect following her win over at the Curragh and Lightning Thunder is also respected with her runs in both the English and Irish 1,000 Guineas but for me I am siding with Rizeena here today, runner up in the Shadwell Fillies Mile and although well beaten in the English 1,000 Guineas I believe she will be much better today with that run behind her as it was her first start for over six months.

She is a dual group winner and beat both Kiyoshi and Tapestry when landing the Moyglare Stud Stakes over at the Curragh and she already has a course win to her name when coming home well in front in the Queen Mary Stakes last June. There is a lot to like about her and this is going to be a very tough race but if she can come on for her seasonal debut then she will be right there today.

About Author

I have been in the betting game for getting on 10 years now, I was a late comer in the betting scene, never really showed much interest in the first 20 years of my life but then I came across a betting website and that all changed. I have learnt a vast amount over the last 5 years, I used to believe I could pick the winner in every race before I realised I could not and began selective betting which is the only way forward. I mainly stick with the horses but do occasionally stray off to bet on the footie or speedway. I am now 35 years old, born and bred in Ipswich and still here and forever a Tractorboy, work part time for a Cash & Carry and have a dog named Dave! That’s about it from me.
