Crowne Plaza Invitational Golf Tips
Last week was a slight disappointment as Leishman traded short but failed to convert and ended up 4 off the winner. Woodland also failed to shoot a score in the 60s to secure a place and it was worrying that he was one over par on the par 5s for the week considering how good he was off the tee he just didn’t take advantage of them and its likely one that got away for him.
Anyway lets keep it brief time is tight this week and onto the Crowne Plaza Invitational this week for the PGA Tour as they play at Fort Worth in Texas. A par 70 playing just over 7,200 yards. They always use this course so that gives us plenty to go on. The holes are seldom straight and the course is protected well by bunkers and water. Judging by past winners good accurate hitting is what you need this week. Also look to good GIR stats as often talked about its very important here. Their has been big talk about first time winners this year on Tour but this event has not had one since Garcia in 2001 and as pointed out he had won before on the European Tour and was highly regarded.
Glad to see the new number 1 Adam Scott turn out for this and with Europe strong its quiet a week of golf. I am going go away from anything too short and play the bigger value chances. I was a big fan of Zach Johnson last year but hes a little off his best right now I believe.
Crowne Plaza Invitational Picks
Matt Every 80/1 ladbrokes – Already a winner this season and his putting is solid which is a great help to his game. He placed at this course last year so no reason he couldn’t come good.
Daniel Summerhays 100/1 sky bet – His 2nd at the Valspar shows he is a good player and could deliver. He is very accurate and if he can come to terms with the course he could go well.
Paul Casey 50/1 bet365- All the talk for his superb back 9 to equal tour record. Surprising he stays stateside to contest this. It is likely this course will really suit his game.
John Senden 45/1 Boylesports – Has a recent win at the Valspar in the bag. His top 10 in the US Masters and recent showings mean he could still bag another soon. Good again last week and game is suited to this test.
