Cycling Vuelta A Espana Stage 7 Betting Tips

Stage 7 Preview

Well Stage 6 was a bit 50:50 for our blog. Our big bet of day paid out and Petit came back from his stage 5 puncture. Farrar again couldn’t podium and was our lay for the stage. We had our 12/1 pick come in a close 2nd to Morkov who like a bus waits ages for a win then nails two big ones in no time as he is coming off win at his nationals a second win for Saxo already in this Vuelta. But the man of the day was Tony Martin who went for it solo from the gun and was only caught with 150 metres to go. A over confident bunch under estimated how hard it would be to catch Tony Martin as he dangled in front of them for over 10km. The pace in the bunch turned on and off and Martin continued to dangle off the front for an age.

Mollema went for a sprint and picked himself up a bonus second to aide his GC hopes.  The group that game came in was sizable with 132 riders.  Their was a few stage hunters taking it easy on day avoiding too much work but will they strike themselves soon?

Todays stage 7 is very like the day before with mostly hilly day but nothing too testing and a downhill section. Again their is not a single climb or today. Their some small climbing near end but the day is surely for a sprinter. Morkov taking it today will have annoyed the sprint trains of Argos and Garmin who put in a shift today, and surely Meersmann will want try strike as well. Again like in the other stages the run in is not simple and their is a bend with 300 metres to go. Coming into the bend first or second will be pretty key.  The riders will scout the finish as the final sprint team will pass through it.

Again for me i am bit confused as to which Argos rider will be the one but theirs no doubting Lampre man Richeze is a man in form right now with another podium today.  Farrar looked more of a threat this time but he tends to be too far back and not commit to pushing others out. The chances for a break here are not great as we have seen past few days.
