Diamond Jubilee Stakes – Race Of The Day (Sat 21st June)

4.25 Ascot – Diamond Jubilee Stakes

The Race Of The Day is based on the most valuable race from Today’s Horse Racing Meetings and we deliver Horse Racing Tips from each blogger to see if we can come to an agreement on a selection. The statistics for today’s Race Of The Day can be seen below, apart from Overall, Month and Day all data supplied is based on either flat or jumps racing depending on the daily race, all odds are based on SP. View Monthly Breakdown Stats.

We have a new selection process for our bloggers, instead of relying on someone to add the selections we now have an automatic process in which when a blogger has a selection he/she can now add it to the post themselves which means you get the selections as they are ready, this means that the post is now put up without any selections in order for it to be available for the bloggers to add them.

Also because there is not always someone around to edit the post with the selections we will now leave this up to you to work out, it is simple enough, when the stated closing time has passed then you can decided whether there is a bet or not, each runner will have the number of selections next to it and for each pick it is clear then that is a 1pt stake, so a runner with 3 picks and then two runners with 1 pick apiece would be a 2pt win, if there is not outright pick then it is deemed a No Bet. We advised all bets of £10 per tip clear, so a 2pt win would be a £20 win.

SBB Columns Bloggers Selections

2013 Diamond Jubilee Stakes: No outright bet last year but we have 5 picks on all different runners who were Lethal Force (1st at 13.71), Society Rock (2nd at 5.50), Rosdhu Queen (5th at 20.18), Mince (16th at 15.00) and Soul (17th at 24.00).

Tips Entry for SBB Bloggers closes at 2.00pm

Darylrogerson – Gordon Lord Byron (1 Picks)

4th in this last year and fared best of those racing on the far side where there was a distinct lack of pace. Six of the first 8 home raced in the centre where Lethal Force went from pillar to post. Then beaten over further by Darwin before only finding two absolutely top class sprinters too good in Moonlight Cloud and Lethal Force again. Beat today’s favourite Slade Power by three lengths in the Haydock Sprint Cup and now holds a head to head advantage over that rival with two wins to one including in this race last year.

Only found Moonlight Cloud too good once more in the Prix De La Foret on Arc weekend and didn’t look at home over a mile on soft ground in the QEII Stakes on Champions Day. Lasted the trip though in the Hong Kong Mile when 4th but much better over this sprinting trip and the stiff finish will only play into his hands.

Has a big chance on form, he gets the trip and no problems with the quicker ground so I can’t really see why he’s such a bigger price than the favourite but I think he can win this for sure.

Zipster – Due Diligence (1 Picks)

I was going to put up Tawhid at a big price but halfway through my reasoning he was withdrawn from the race so I will go with the one who I had the closest to him and that is Due Diligence. O’Brien’s runner comes here having won his last two starts and will be looking to be the first 3yo winner of this race since 2009, he was a comfortable winner of a listed race at Naas last time out and really does seem to have come on as a 3yo.

The yard last won the race back in 2010 with Starspangledbanner and I believe have an excellent chance this year with Due Diligence, I would also put a word out there for Montiridge who at a big price could go well here today but for me I am going with Ryan Moore for another ROTD success.

Gecko – Aljamaaheer (2 Picks)

Due Diligence could be a very useful and quick challenger here but preference is for the 5 yr old Aljamaaheer who has a decent record on this track, has been racing well over a mile and now dropping back to sprinting could be spot on for a good win – blinkers on today which hopefully will help and with Hanagan on top, all looks set for a successful tilt

Anthony Sherratt – Aljamaaheer (Selections Post) (2 Picks)

Full reasoning can be found on my post here

jaydubs – Medicean Man (1 Picks)

Short as running out of time. Fast pace should be set. Will enjoy coming off the pace. likes fast ground

About Author

I have been in the betting game for getting on 10 years now, I was a late comer in the betting scene, never really showed much interest in the first 20 years of my life but then I came across a betting website and that all changed. I have learnt a vast amount over the last 5 years, I used to believe I could pick the winner in every race before I realised I could not and began selective betting which is the only way forward. I mainly stick with the horses but do occasionally stray off to bet on the footie or speedway. I am now 35 years old, born and bred in Ipswich and still here and forever a Tractorboy, work part time for a Cash & Carry and have a dog named Dave! That’s about it from me.
