Football: 16th March Weekly Accumulator

Everyone can find a winner in a weekend on the football coupons but that elusive 5 or 6 results for an accumulator and big pay day always has the one that lets you down.

The SBB team will each put up 1 selection per week on the football although not below 1.5 in price and we will see if 5 or 6 minds, looking at different ways of selecting a result could pay dividends.

This accumulator is deemed complete at time of posting

Annan Vs Clyde – OVER 2.5+ GOALS
Annan are great value for money if you are a supporter, 23 of the their 28 league games this season have ended in 3 or more goals and they come up against bottom of the league Clyde today so I am expecting goals galore in this one, at home Annan have played 13 games in which there has been 47 goals which is an average of 3.62 goals per game whilst Clyde’s away games have averaged 3.00 goals per game. These two sides have met three times this season and those score lines have finished at 2-1, 1-3 & 2-3, for me this game has goals written all over it and I would be very surprised if we did not see at least 3 goals here.

DONCASTER v Portsmouth – HOME WIN 1.57

This should be about 1.25,we have the side top and cruising in League One against a poor Pompey side who have got lucky a couple of times of late. I would be very confident that they stand absolutely no chance whatsoever in the Keepmoat. A little downturn in Doncaste’rs fortunes mixed with an upturns in Pompey’s has made this price wrong. It might be short, but not as short as it should be

VALENCIA v REAL BETIS – Over 2.5 Goals

Valencia have scored 27 and conceded 23 goals in their 14 home matches so far this season giving an average of 3.57 goals per game. Real Betis have scored 20 and conceded 25 goals in their 13 away matches this season giving an average of 3.46 goals per game. 8 of Valencia’s 14 home games have had 2.5 goals or more, whilst 8 of Betis’ 13 away games have had 2.5 goals or more. These are quite low for what I would want, but a booster is that 10 of the last 12 games between these two sides have had 2.5 goals or more. The last 6 games between them at Valencia have seen 20 goals scored and the Over 2.5 goals has occured in the last 5. Both teams are in decent form so I expect some goals in this.

Start v Honefoss – Home win

The start of the Norwegian season sees promoted Start host Honefoss. Traditionally the promoted clubs have a decent record at home in the first week or two and I would expect the same against a traditional poor away side. Honefoss won just 2 away games and drew 2 in their last visit to the league while last year the just avoided relegation having won just  3 away (2 of which were the relegated teams) and drew 4. Start won 6 at home the season they went down and won 12 of 15 on promotion back to the top flight and with the 3 H2H’s v Honefoss seeing them win all 3 without conceding a goal this looks a good price for their return.

Swansea v Arsenal > AWAY win
Arsenal didn’t play that well but still won in Germany midweek but Wenger will be keen to make sure they up their performance and get a similar result here as they really need the 3pts after losing at spurs recently – they have lost 4 away this season but 3 of those were Spurs, Utd and Chelsea – they have sneaked a few away wins 1-0 and can see another one here… Swansea don’t lose often at home (twice this season but do give up a few goals sometimes and can be inconsistent – they were a bit fortunate to beat Newcastle recently at home and did get spanked 5-0 at Anfield… Arsenal to nick this for me at good odds of about 13/10 generally.

About Author

Hi I am 42 and have been sports betting seriously for the last 4-5 years. My main areas are Rugby Union where I have played a decent level in both England and Wales and also Cricket where I did the same. I like my horses too but really limit myself to the sprints up to a mile in the summer and then the longer distances over fences in the winter with some AW action as well in the colder months.
