Football: 9th March Weekly Accumulator

Everyone can find a winner in a weekend on the football coupons but that elusive 5 or 6 results for an accumulator and big pay day always has the one that lets you down.

The SBB team will each put up 1 selection per week on the football although not below 1.5 in price and we will see if 5 or 6 minds, looking at different ways of selecting a result could pay dividends.

This accumulator is deemed complete at time of posting

Schalke 04 v Bor Dortmund (14.30 KO) – OVER 2.5 GOALS
Schalke’s 24 games this season have resulted in 80 goals so far, that is an average of 3.33 goals per game whilst Dortmund’s 24 games also have resulted in 82 goals which is an average of 3.42 goals per game and both teams hold a 71% strike rate for games this season resulting in 3+ goals. Head to Head since 2000 at Schalke 10 of the 15 games have ended in 3+ goals including 5 of the last 7. This game has goals written all over for me.

SC Freiburg – VfL Wolfsburg-  Half Time HOME WIN

Wolfsburg have yet to win at Freiburg in nine games in the Bundesliga, drawing three and losing six. The home side have won this fixture the last five times and could very well extend that to six on Saturday. I’m not overly concerned about the full time result though as I am expecting Frieburg to be ahead at half time and will be betting on that outcome at what for me looks like a juicy 2.60. Wolfsburg have a really good away record this season but have still been behind at the break in half of their 24 matches and have concede the first goal in no fewer than 16 games this season. 2.60 to be trailing at the break on that basis looks a bit lumpy.

Northampton v Accrington Stanley – Home win

League 2 is a bit of a strange one with the away records of 8 teams better than their home while only 13 have better home records.  This does mean the better prices providing you can navigate the minefields though. Northampton have lost only 3 games at home, 2 of which were to top of the table Gillingham and 3rd placed Cheltenham, while cup kings Bradford were the others. Their big strength is the home defence though with just 3 teams scoring 2 or more when visiting with Northampton failing to score just twice. 7 straight home wins also gives confidence. Accrington do have a better away record than at home but barring the opening month and a bit of the season Accrington have only got points at 4 of the 8 at the bottom as well as 2 mid tables. Div 2 teams are always tricky but 1.8 is too big here.

Hartlepool v Yeovil – AWAY WIN

Hartlepool have taken advantage of some poor form shown by teams around them when beating them but haven’t played anyone as good as Yeovil for a while. Yeovil are in a strong period of form and no one has taken more points per game in League One since the turn of the new year than they have with 25 points from their 10 games (8 wins; 1 draw; 1 loss). More so the draw was away at table toppers Doncaster so I class that as a very positive result and their only loss was in their penultimate games losing 2-0 away at Colchester with their Captain and first choice defender Jamie McAllister and second top scorer James Hayter missing. Got immediately back on track last time with a 1-0 win over Tranmere and should be too strong for Hartlepool today

About Author

Hi I am 42 and have been sports betting seriously for the last 4-5 years. My main areas are Rugby Union where I have played a decent level in both England and Wales and also Cricket where I did the same. I like my horses too but really limit myself to the sprints up to a mile in the summer and then the longer distances over fences in the winter with some AW action as well in the colder months.
