Premier League Table >

nov 21st

So the latest table shows the top 8 in generally good form, Newcastle being clear improvers of course – the bottom 5 are bereft of wins in recent weeks

A good profit last week with 5/6 winners all at evens or above, the season total is still showing a loss currently though

Chelsea v WBA > Many will expect a standard home win but WBA are no mugs – Chelsea have won all 5 homes this term and may do enough to take this by 1 or 2-0. I don’t see too many goals here so Under 2.5 is the call as 2.4 looks generous to me

Everton v West Ham > Everton unbeaten in 6, WH in 5 – the improved Hammers will expect to do well but I think Everton will impress here and pick up another 3 pts as they move up the table, 2-1 probably as both have been scoring and conceding too, BTTS is another obvious call

Leicester v Sunderland > Leicester have stopped scoring which always means trouble whilst Sunderland have improved after their battering on the south coast. 4 defeats with no goals for the hosts but they have had some good home results against high placed teams so they can hold Sunderland here, perhaps a 1-1 draw and a goal at last!

City v Swansea > City need to win well and stop the rot whilst Swansea will expect nothing so could relax and make life awkward; a stuttering home win looks likely as City stop the rot of (rare) home defeats in various comps and get back on track. Over 2.5 possibly if Swansea open the game up a bit but 1-0 is in my mind and Swans on the AH looks tempting

Newcastle v QPR > Pardew has clearly turned things round and confidence is a wonderful thing as can be seen in Newcastle these days; QPR have improved too so could make it harder than it looks but a 2-0 home win is the one that springs to mind. Newcastle have tightened up and are getting wins, QPR have lost 6 on the spin and 9 of 10 in the league away from home.

Stoke v Burnley > fresh off their first win, Burnley will be boosted but Stoke away is a tough game usually and Stoke are off the back of a good away win at WHL last game – Burnley will scrap and fight but will be hard pushed to win again. Stoke should score and that could be enough

Arsenal v Utd > who knows? hard to call as any result is possible here – tricky game with both a bit unpredictable currently although Utd are improving. Either 0-0 or 4-2 either way I think! Arsenal are actually unbeaten in 23 home lge games while Utd haven’t won in 7 away from OT. Stats can lie but that pushes me towards a home win but a 2-2 or so may be reasonable shout. Note that Arsenal have failed to score only twice ion those last 23 homes, against Chelsea and Utd.. so perhaps a 0-0 bet is wise too!

Palace v Liverpool > Liverpool are struggling to get anything going and won’t relish this game – Palace meanwhile will be up for it and fancy their chances of a decent scalp here. Neither are in much form with defeats abounding, hard to call and really any result could happen so perhaps avoid this one

Hull v Spurs > Spurs have been so poor at home they will enjoy a trip – Hull off the back of a poor result at Burnley isn’t perhaps the best venue this week and although Spurs have the better players supposedly, they are lacking in confidence and any more line-up changes will no doubt make things trickier. Hull haven’t scored in 3 and Spurs have only lost 1 of 5 away games this term, but a draw is jumping out here to me. Knowing Spurs in recent times, they will find a daft way to win or concede 6!

Villa v Southampton > the high-flying Saints will look to pick up another win here whilst Villa will be pleased to have stopped the losing streak – always wary of a team who have just ended a long poor run, they often spark up and find some new confidence – this could also be the end of Saints’ terrific run (11 wins in 12 in all comps) and I see a surprise home win here

Advised Bets >

Villa +0.75 AH @ 1.89

Chelsea v WBA Under 2.5 @ 2.4

Everton v West Ham, Over 2.5 @ 1.81 and BTTS @ 1.71

Leicester v Sunderland Draw @ 3.6

Newcastle win to nil @ 3.05

Chelsea WBA Under 2.5 @ 2.4, WBA +2 AH @ 1.6

Hull +0.25 AH @ 2.01

Swansea +1.25 AH @ 2.06

Arsenal v Utd Draw @ 3.65, Under 2.5 @ 2.2

  1. Excellent day with Chelsea duly winning 2-0 as mentioned, Everton 2-1 as mentioned, Newcastle to nil and Leicester drawing – plenty of profit there

    Just the Arsenal game wrong

Really good week so far and about 6pts profit so far

  2. Villa added to the good week by drawing – some decent bets again this week with 7 wins, 1 push and 3 losses, making 5.63pts LSP on the week
