Football: SBB Weekly Accumulator (20/04/13)

Everyone can find a winner in a weekend on the football coupons but that elusive 5 or 6 results for an accumulator and big pay day always has the one that lets you down.

The SBB team will each put up 1 selection per week on the football although not below 1.5 in price and we will see if 5 or 6 minds, looking at different ways of selecting a result could pay dividends.

This accumulator is deemed complete at time of posting

West Bromwich Albion Vs Newcastle United – OVER 2.5 GOALS
Neither of these two teams have been in great form of late, WBA have failed to win in three whilst Newcastle have only won one of their last four, WBA European chances have all but gone whilst Newcastle after still looking over their shoulders and will at least need one more win to guarantee safety for another season. At home WBA have now failed to record a clean sheet in 8 games whilst scoring themselves in 6 of those 8, Newcastle have conceded 6 in their last two game away from home in the league, there is usually goals when these two meet, 6 of the last 7 games have ended in 4+ goals and only 1 of the last 12 have resulted in less than 3 goals so for me with Newcastle still needing the points and looking to redeem themselves from a derby day humiliation I believe we will see goals today which is why I am going with over 2.5 for this match.

MK Dons v Scunthorpe Home win

This could be construed as a little bit of a risky bet at the price however, MK Dons do have something to play for albeit a slim chance of the playoffs. Scunthorpe are all but down and anything other than a Colchester loss and 3pts for them in the last 2 games will see  to that. Their form has seen just 1 x win and 1 x draw in their last 9 and if we just look at their form away they have lost their last 7 scoring just 1 goal which was a loss against bottom club Bury. MK Dons at home have 4 wins from their last 6 with just 3 goals conceded, which were all in the sole defeat. They have beaten 1st, 3rd, 6th and 10th all keeping them goaless in the last 2 months. Scunthorpe can’t just go there to defend for the draw as that will not see them safe and are going to have to come at MK which should leave spaces for the better team to exploit.

Bolton v MiddlesbroughHome win

Bolton lie just a single point away from a play off spot, and with both teams above them facing off against each other this weekend, that makes the 3pts crucial as they have their play off spot now in their hands. They are playing well and the home form is solid. Boro meanwhile are proving mediocre of late and have picked up just a single point on their last 6 away trips.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Schalke 04Over 2.5 Goals

There have been 46 goals in Frankfurt’s 14 home league matches so far this season (3.28 per game) and coincidentally there has also been 46 goals in Schalke’s 14 away league matches this season. 9 of Frankurt’s 14 games have resulted in over 2.5 goals whilst 10 of Schalke have done the same. 5 of the last 6 meetings between these two teams in this fixture have resulted in 2.5 goals or more (22 goals in 6 games total). With both teams still harbouring dreams of qualifying for the Europa League and Champions League respectively, they both need to pick up points today so we could see an attacking game which should result in a few goals

About Author

Hi I am 42 and have been sports betting seriously for the last 4-5 years. My main areas are Rugby Union where I have played a decent level in both England and Wales and also Cricket where I did the same. I like my horses too but really limit myself to the sprints up to a mile in the summer and then the longer distances over fences in the winter with some AW action as well in the colder months.
