Football: SBB Weekly Accumulator (13/04/13)

Everyone can find a winner in a weekend on the football coupons but that elusive 5 or 6 results for an accumulator and big pay day always has the one that lets you down.

The SBB team will each put up 1 selection per week on the football although not below 1.5 in price and we will see if 5 or 6 minds, looking at different ways of selecting a result could pay dividends.

This accumulator is deemed complete at time of posting

jaydubs – Burton v PlymouthHome win
Plymouth may sit top of the form table and Burton may have been beaten 7-1 last week but that just increases the price for me. Plymouth have built up their form on the back of some good home performances, but looking at their away record points have come against 15th or below bar a draw in the local derby at 9th placed Exeter and a win at 12th placed Southend. They have lost to all of the top 7 scoring just 2 goals. Burton have won 10 of their last 11 at home and have lost only 3 and drawn 3 at home this year. All have come at no lower that 11th in the league bar a 1-0 loss to bottom club Aldershot. Seems a straight forward home win here for me but at an inflated price of 1.95.

Gecko6Southampton v West HamHome win
Resurgent Saints to beat a dour Hammers side who will no doubt be sent out again looking to not concede – expect the high tempo pressing game of the hosts to be too much for the visitors and another 3 pts which will pretty much make the Saints safe – they have beaten Chelsea and Liverpool recently at home and City also a while back – theyshould be confident of beating WHU today, decent price.

gghofman – Brentford v PortsmouthHome win
Have to say Brentford were impressive with their mid week exploits they took a tough away game day task and managed to go and dig it out 2-0 over Crewe and are flying high now. Pompey had a  night off and have now gone 5 unbeaten but facing this new task away to in form Brentford and the fate of club may be safe but theirs still a lot of work to be done.

Zipster – Elgin City v MontroseHome win
Both of these teams come into this game unbeaten in their last three starts, Montrose currently sit in 4th spot which is the final playoff place whilst Elgin are just 4pt behind them in 6th. Elgin won at Queens Park before beating Clyde at Home and then last week went to Annan to pick up a draw whilst Montrose went to bottom of the league East Stirling to pick up a win and have drawn their last two both at home to Rangers and Stirling. There is not much between to two sides but over the years Elgin have held the edge at home to Montrose, they have won their last six at home against Montrose which includes a 6-1 success back in October so for me even though it looks a tight match, I believe that Elgin will come out on top today.

DRogerson – Northampton v York CityHome win
Northampton are challenging for promotion and have won every on their last 10 home games. York in contrast haven’t won away in 11 games and are struggling to avoid relegation. Northampton quality should shine through here

About Author

Hi I am 42 and have been sports betting seriously for the last 4-5 years. My main areas are Rugby Union where I have played a decent level in both England and Wales and also Cricket where I did the same. I like my horses too but really limit myself to the sprints up to a mile in the summer and then the longer distances over fences in the winter with some AW action as well in the colder months.
