5.30 Galway – Galway Plate
The Race Of The Day is based on the most valuable race from Today’s Horse Racing Meetings and we deliver Horse Racing Tips from each blogger to see if we can come to an agreement on a selection. The statistics for today’s Race Of The Day can be seen below, apart from Overall, Month and Day all data supplied is based on either flat or jumps racing depending on the daily race, all odds are based on SP.
We have a new selection process for our bloggers, instead of relying on someone to add the selections we now have an automatic process in which when a blogger has a selection he/she can now add it to the post themselves which means you get the selections as they are ready, this means that the post is now put up without any selections in order for it to be available for the bloggers to add them.
Also because there is not always someone around to edit the post with the selections we will now leave this up to you to work out, it is simple enough, when the stated closing time has passed then you can decided whether there is a bet or not, each runner will have the number of selections next to it and for each pick it is clear then that is a 1pt stake, so a runner with 3 picks and then two runners with 1 pick apiece would be a 2pt win, if there is not outright pick then it is deemed a No Bet. We advised all bets of £10 per tip clear, so a 2pt win would be a £20 win.

Zipster – Wise Old Owl (1 Picks)
Cracking race in store here, the likes of Alderwood, Caid Du Berlais and Balnaslow who put forward strong claims for me but it is Wise Old Owl who I like here today, returned from a 19 month layoff last time out and although well beaten you have to believe that that run would have done him the world of good, he was runner up in this race back in 2011 and has in fact been runner up here three times from four starts. Comes here today off 134 which is a mark I believe he is capable of winning off and it is good to see Mark Walsh returning to the saddle, from 8 rides he has won 2 and been runner up 5 times so usually in the mix. Only his second start since the long layoff so may be a little risky but I believe he has a great chance here today.
Darylrogerson – Burn And Turn (1 Picks)
Ruby Walsh was interviewed this week on the Galway Plate and he commented that you really want a horse who’s form is over 2m4f as it’s such a quick and tight track that stayers don’t really get in to it.
Burn And Turn fits the bill in my eyes, she’s been consistent over 2m4f on good ground and has hit a bit of form not beaten far in April by Une Artiste before reversing the form in May both in Grade 3 chases.
Still look competitive handicapped and she should have no issues travelling close to the pace to maintin a good position hitting the home bend.
