Goodwood 4.50 – Secret Hint
This 3 year old daughter of Oasis Dream, trained by Andrew Balding, is the selection in what looks to be a typically competitive Goodwood handicap. She is 4lb’s out of the weights here, however she runs off a mark of 84, which I think could prove to be a very lenient opening mark.
She has only had two career starts to date, and she ran a race packed full of promise on her debut back in October of last year. Over 6 furlongs, she got outpaced 2 furlongs out, and despite showing obvious signs of greenness, she stayed on to finish 3rd in a race that has worked out very well. The first, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 9th and 10th have all won since, with the winner now rated 101.
She reappeared 3 weeks ago at Doncaster, and although having an absence to overcome and was weak in the betting, she won in the style of a very good horse. Still green on only her 2nd start, she tracked the pace and quickened up really nicely to readily beat a nice sort who has won since rated 80, and these 2 pulled a long way clear of the rest. This is solid form, and she has the potential for better still.
Although she is out of the weights tomorrow, she has plenty of improvement to come now tackling handicap company, and on only her 3rd career start. Although this is a seriously competitive event, I think she will go seriously close off a mark she should prove to be much better than in the future.
