Joey Logano sweeps The Glen


Joey Logano completed the weekend sweep taking the checkered flag at Watkins Glen International.

Kevin Harvick was leading the race on the final lap when he ran out of gas with only two turns to go. The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford drove by the points leader on the final turn to score the tenth victory of his career. Kyle Busch rebounded from his 21st place finish the previous week with a runner-up finish. “Happy” Harvick led a race high of 29 laps and limped to a third place finish. Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch rounded out the top five.

Clint Bowyer, price Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards, Sam Hornish Jr. and Jimmie Johnson rounded out the top ten.

A. J. Allmendinger finished a disappointing 24th. Jeff Gordon finished 41st after a brake line rupture in his final career road course race. Tony Stewart finished 42nd and Kasey Kahne finished dead last.*

Next week, NASCAR heads to the Irish Hills of Michigan for the Pure Michigan 400.
