NHL Pick Wednesday 18th December

Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Rangers

Thursday 19th December, 01:00 (GMT)

Game Result – Pittsburgh Penguin Win at 2.00

The Rangers have won just once from the their last ten games at home in sixty minutes, they have lost eight of those and then have a win and loss in overtime and this has left them sitting down in 11th place in the Eastern Conference but they sit second from bottom based on home form and second for away form so struggling in front of their home fans but getting the job done on the road.

The Penguins currently occupy top spot in the Eastern Conference following four straight victories and their record on the road is pretty decent with eight wins from seventeen games, in fact only the Rangers better them on the road in the Metropolitan Division, they have won four of their last eight on the road and can add an additional overtime success to that also and they have only lost twice in the sixty minutes.

I think the head-2-head record is why the Rangers are favourites for this games, on their last two visits to Madison Square Garden the Pens have lost 6-1 & 5-1 however they have still won four of the last six games and over the past eight games at Madison Square Garden the tie is split 50/50 with four wins apiece.

I think the 2.00 available is generous considering the form of the two sides, Rangers are really struggling on home ice this season whilst the Pens are getting it done not only at home but also on the road, so for me this can result in more misery for the Rangers fans as the Pens can continue their push to the playoffs.

Good Luck

About Author

I have been in the betting game for getting on 10 years now, I was a late comer in the betting scene, never really showed much interest in the first 20 years of my life but then I came across a betting website and that all changed. I have learnt a vast amount over the last 5 years, I used to believe I could pick the winner in every race before I realised I could not and began selective betting which is the only way forward. I mainly stick with the horses but do occasionally stray off to bet on the footie or speedway. I am now 35 years old, born and bred in Ipswich and still here and forever a Tractorboy, work part time for a Cash & Carry and have a dog named Dave! That’s about it from me.

  1. Two third period goals from the Rangers sent the game to overtime! Pens went into the final period holding a 4-2 lead but failed to hold on to it. They did however go on to win on Penalties so another successful bet.
