Rosberg wins in Austria

Nico Rosberg took the checkered flag in Spielberg to win the Austrian Grand Prix.

After running off the track in qualifying on what would’ve been the pole winning lap, the German outran teammate Lewis Hamilton into the first turn and drove away from the field. This brings the drivers championship fight down to a ten point gap. Felipe Massa scores his first podium finish of the season in third.

The first lap of the race also had a scary two car wreck involving Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso. At Exiting turn 2, Raikkonen got loose and turned into the barrier. Alonso was caught up in the wreck. A few more inches in either direction, Kimi would’ve been decapitated or lost his hands.

The next race will be in two weeks as Formula 1 returns to sunny Silverstone.
