Ruta Del Sol 2016 Cycling Preview

Ruta Del Sol 2016 Cycling Preview

Ruta Del Sol 2016 was Spains season opener of stage racing this year it comes 2nd to Valencia. While some stars like Contador will race in Algarve, Valverde has stuck to this race but he may well be worth taking on. The time trial element seems to have pushed the market in favour of Tejay here. Interesting for SKy that Kiriyenka is no 1 but also Poels is bang on form. In end the top 3 of the market just seemed priced too right for me too bother opposing.

De La Parte has been talked up and the 80/1 is worth a small go of a punt to be this years Valls as some have called it. I have memories of Mollema being able to turn up this early in the season and it looks like he has Giro on the mind and is keen to impress Trek to get their full backing of his team behind him. Last but not least Kiriyenka can kill a time trial and Poel is not that selfish that Kiriyenka won’t be given a fair cut.

Ruta Del Sol Bets:

1.5pts De La Parte to beat Navarro 13/8 bet365

2pts Mollema to beat Majka 2.09 pinnacle

.3pt Bauke Mollema 28/1 bet365

.1pt Victor De La Parte 80/1 ladbrokes

.35pts Vasil Kiriyenka 16/1 bet365

  1. Stage 2:
Bouhanni didn’t get into the top 3 so it was a good bet to oppose. Stage 2 might filter out the sprinters. Some guys mentioned Barbero he is 66/1 for the stage. All very tricky for me to decide on how to proceed here.

    .15pts Jay McCarthy 28/1 bet365

1.5pts Mollema to beat Keldermann evens bet365
    .5pts Valverde to beat Felline 5/4 bet365 (2.27 pinnace)

  2. Stage 3:
This might prove harder than day before and eyes will be on Bouhanni more so this time.

    .2pts Gilbert 7/1 skybet
    .1pt Jay McCarthy 80/1 betfair
    .1pt T.Van Der Sandy 40/1 bet365

1pt Van Der Sande to beat Battaglin 9/10 bet365

  3. Stage 4:

So Van Der Sande won the match bet, so we covered our losing stage bets we move onto a typical SPainish time trial not very flat and not very wide roads. No Cancellera or Martin here to a bit more open for the winning.

    .75pts W.Poels 7/2 BS
    .25pts T.Van Garderen 12/1 bet365

    1pt Meyer to beat Boaro 8/11 bet365
1.5ptsWellens to beat Gilbert 1.49 pinnacle
    1pt Keldermann to beat Felline 8/15 bet365
    1pt Ludbigsson to beat Hollenstein 13/8 bet365

  4. Stage 5:
A very good tt for the blog TVG was superb he nailed it, but at 8/15 he looks a little short to win this race outright with such a tricky day ahead of him. Poels may have had some edge taken off his tt but he looks lean as for the climbing on his plate today.

    1.4pt W.Poels (4.04 pinnacle)
    .2pts D.Navarro 15/1 bet365 (16/1 skybet)
.75pts Poels to beat Valverde evens pinnacle
