Tour De France Stage 19 Preview

Firstly lets deal with the business of Stage 18 the last day in the mountains. The best of the break was Nieve but it wasn’t his day cracking badly as the Hautacam sapped him. To make matters worst despite doing most of the work on the Tourmalet he was pipped over the top by Kadri for the 5k prize. In the end Nibali launched his attack off the pace of Horner and never looked back. He passed Nieve and left him for dead and literally put in his 100% to take the stage win.

Pinot had a cracking day, he broke up the chase behind and rode well with Tejay who both had Peraud on the limit catching on to Majka. Majka late on helped out with an attack which Pinot followed gaining some crucial seconds on his rival Peraud. Valverde was forced to chase this and lost enough time to fall out of the top 3 now. Meanwhile Bardet put his stamp on matters with a late attack to almost seal a 5th in the Tour. Konig and Mollema rode solid with Ten Dam and Valverde just behind. Zubeldia was up there too. The gap thereafter got quiet big.

A look back at Tour Den France Stage 18 bets on a day won by Nibali

Betting wise Trofimov traded low enough to lock in some green, while Pinot left a trading chance for us. Konig and Ten Dam kept pretty quiet on the other hands. The good news was the success of the match betting with just one letting us down. The results for the day were very postive with a profit of +6.43pts. As such the blog has proved very successful and hopefully Tour De France Stage 19 can prove as profitable for followers of the blog.

Tour De France Stage 19 Preview

So onto Tour De France Stage 19 and we have now left the mountains and this stage is unlikely to affect the overall picture especially with the tight battle for the rest of the podium spots behind Nibali. Overall the sprinters who have survived in one piece from the mountains can thrive here. Rojas and Haussler won’t be involved after stage 18 got the best of them. At 208km it is a long test but the day contains very little climbing but late on does have a 1.3km tester at 7.8%, just to throw a spanner in the mix.

Watch out as they pass through the town of Conom at 71k and soon after the food drop off they will be thinking of the sprint Tonneins with points and prizes up for grabs. The battle between break and the chasing pack might get interesting if a strong enough break away can get away and cause some trouble. This might be a stage were a watching brief is very much on the cards for me.

Tour De France Stage 19 Profile

Sagan and Kristoff head the betting and its likely I will look to take both on in the market as we could see a surprise winner. The climb might cause bit of trouble but it isn’t that close to the finish that it might well be coming back together. Trentin could be a man to side with at much bigger odds and with no pressure he might nail this sprint. Riders will be nervous with a time trial ahead and the best motors might be looking for an easy day in the build up so I will likely be trying to keep anyone strong on side in my book. Expect Orica and Lampre as well as Europcar to seek out the break.
